I have 4 computers and and xbox running on my internet connection...

As of last night everything was fine...

This morning...my wife's, son's, daughter's PC nor the Xbox have any internet connection (all connected to the switch, 5 port)...

This is all hard wired...

My PC hooked to the main router is fine...

All the lites on the switch are blinking except for position 2 (which has pc going into it, main connection from my router to the switch is in port 1)...but no connectivity...any ideas?

Can all the machines connected to the switch see each other? If so, then I'd double check the cable from switch to router.

I'm assuming that the 3 PCs + XBox are connected to the switch which is in turn connected to the router. Your PC is connected directly to the router.... ?

As far as I know they are all independent, no shared resources..printer...anything...

My pc goes directly into the roughter and is working fine...

Don't worry... that thought didn't even cross my mind until you mentioned it :D

Ah, it's the simplest things that we forget in the race for a solution

Yeah - this is a common event. My fix is to unplug the router's a/c connector, hold a few seconds, and then plug it back in. That forces all clients to find the changed IP address.

Cable changes it about every 10 days or so. A reboot can also fix it, but for systems like mine - on 24/7 - the router power works as well.
