Cops are always in front my house( firehouse) so i don't know why they haven't read the sign. Is it illegal to park a car on a public street with all the requirements for a long period of time, license, registration and inspection paperwork?

They have read the sign; they just don't want to be bothered with the paperwork. Lazy cops.

Make an anonymous call from a payphone in the neighborhood. Say there's a guy in there and it looks like he has a gun. Truck will be gone in an hour AND as an added bonus, they'll dust it for prints instead of just letting the contracted towing company strip it for parts like usually happens.

Hopefully, they'll get a lead on the guys that stole it.

It does not have to be on your block for you to call the police. Just call them and tell them that you saw the truck. They will go and look and fill out a report and try to find the owner. Then they will wait until the alloted time, and if it is still there after the predetermined period of time, they will have it towed.

Where I live, in NJ, it is 48 hours. If someone calls the cops on a car, they will come around and look. They take the plate and try to locate the owner. And if it is still there 48 hours later, it is towed away.

It's been there 7 days, mabey the owners are on vacation. Mabey the owners are visiting someone on that block, and the entire group took another car on a trip and left that one there. I can think of so many reasons a vehicle wouldn't move from a parking spot for days on end.

One of my friends cars was towed away after sitting parked on our block for 4 days while we were moving. The neighbors decided to be "good samaritans" :roll: and call the police about it.

No the sign was gone.

if your vehicle has been abandoned (parked) on a block for over 7 days, it can be ticketed.

right now, there are 3 or 4 tickets on this one car that parks on my block

I'll keep an eye on it. Last night it was still parked in the new location thats two days now.
