RossMAN
Grand Nagus
thanks for the info guys, not really too worried about the data as i've got the source on my pc at home, but the real question is, where do i move to for a good, inexpensive host. rossman, any chance you'll assume ripplehost? how much does alan owe these folks?
as a side note, i've just got to say that alan has proved himself to be a world-class jerk. his lack of presence on the ripplehost forums, his lack of any notification to use users, while continuing to accept money (i just re-upped a month ago) is really bogus. i hope his design firm goes belly up quickly.
I would still encourage you to attempt to connect to RippleHost's servers later today and retrieve your files. I'm still interested in buying out RippleHost if the price is right (which I highly doubt it will be). This is of course assuming Alan steps up to the plate and does the right thing. Chances are he won't even respond to my e-mail, which I have not sent yet. If he does I'll of course keep you guys informed.
I'm sure this wasn't Alan's original intention but the fact is you cannot run a web host business and be profitable offering $5 - $10 per year web hosting accounts. I think he bit off a little too much and later realized what a mistake RH was.
You know what? I <3 Rossman for suggesting Idologic to me a year or so ago. It IS worth paying a bit more for the quality service they have. I
I would hate to be in this position and I feel for you guys.
I remember when you PM'd me asking for a quality web host provider and I recommended Idologic.com as they are an oustanding web host provider. I'm coming up on my 2nd year with them and I still have nothing but high praise for them. It's so nice that the servers work, they're fast, uptime is near 100% and I rarely have to contact support. Sometimes I'll submit a ticket at 2AM and shortly after they resolve the issue with a friendly and prompt reply. Good service like that is hard to find these days. Their $15/mo reseller account is a great deal considering they're a "premium" web host provider.
