It appears 7 Americans were killed and several others missing in an avalanche in Revelstoke (sp?), BC.

This is very sad. I hope no one on this board is involved with this disaster.

Great, I'll be going up into that region in less than two weeks on my trip to Whistler-Blackcomb

Very sad. I heard it on the radio today and it gave me the chills. There is NOTHING you can do. If you're close to a tree and lock your arms around it, the force of the Avalanche is going to rip those limbs right off.

You can only try to outrun it... almost impossible... I used to have a video of people outrunning large scale hill slides just for shits and giggles.

The sad part is, you can get that kind of terrian in Whistler without getting into a chopper.... ah well.

Edit: I also heard there is still people missing, and I thought that by LAW you couldn't go off piste or get in a chopper without a beacon... strange.
