Hey.

My last two weeks have been living hell, computer-wise :) I went out and decided to build a new system, so far so good. I went with what I thought a standard setup these days:

Athlon 1.4 ghz
GlobalWIN WBK68 CPU cooler
Asus A7V133 + RAID
512 MB PC133 RAM
2 x IBM 7200 rpm 40 gig HDs
Server Case with a 300 Watt PSU

I decided to continue using my TNT2 Ultra until I can afford something shinier.

Now, I assembled everything, even used a spacer and Arctic Silver 2 compound, all the works. I turn on the power, the fans and HDs power up and... nothing, no POST, no video signal, not even a beep. I try this, try that, reset the BIOS by shorting the right contacts, nothing. Frustrated, I send everything (except the case) back in. They tested it, said it's fine, but sent me a new Fan and MOBO anyway. Same problem. Now, the PSU can only support a maximum of 150 Watt on the leads that count (sorry, forgot which ones ;) ), could my problem lie there? I heard that the TNT2U is a power hog, as is the 1.4 ghz Athlon. Should I get a brandname 400 Watt PSU and hope for the best?

Thanks for any suggestions.

check this website in AMD, there you could see what PSU is the right one for the Athlon 1.4 here and hope this could solve your problem

Thanks, did that already, going with a nice 400 Wat PSU with active PFC, it's already ordered. I mainly just wanted to verify that that's about the only source of the problem that I haven't thought of. =)
