Possible PSU/GPU BSOD

Power Supply BSOD
Hey guys,

So I recently rebuilt one of my computers. Before I rebuilt it I had an odd problem where my computer would mysteriously BSOD without any obvious signs of why. I posted about this problem and thought it was related to my current hardware and but wanted a sandy bridge system anyway.

I kept three parts: a sapphire vapor-x gpu, a corsair 550W power supply, and a WD hardrive. I now have a sandy bridge system with all new core components. I have had 3 incidences so far where the lcd would go black (not off) and the keyboard wouldn't respond.

The two possible sources to me would be the power supply or the gpu. What are your thoughts?

Today, I tried to run the futuremark 2011 benchmark and i got BSOD with a notification that the gpu had an error. Nothing was overclocked...

Hum. That sounds similar to what I had when I built my new Sandy system. And in my case it was indeed my corsair 620HX PSU. I had it about 3 1/2 years. I changed the PSU to a new Seasonic 750 and have not had one problem since. Its been about a week. If I were you I would find a place that has a good return policy, like FRYS and buy a new PSU and try it out for a week and see if your problems go away. But it does sound like a PSU issue...
