OK, to make this clear for me, I am planning on making this:
cpu - amd64 Venice (3000+ or 3200+)
mobo ->MSI K8N neo-4 Plat
vid card-> 6600GT or a x800xl pci-e vid card

After reading some posts and going over the "Do I need a 24-pin PSU" sticky, i am somewhat confused.
If I got a regular PSU (say the one that comes with a Sonata II), would I have to get the converter that combines 2 Molex connectors? --> pci-express power adapter
Should I just get a 24-pin PSU?

That PSU that comes with the sonata is very good. Your video card should come with the 4-pin to 6-pin adapter.
