Ok, I get blue screens only while gaming. I'm not 100% sure this is related to my video card but the evidence seems to support that. These aren't the usual BSOD these are solid blue screens with what looks like some kind of vertical squiggly white lines across the screen. Last night while playing Asherons Call it did this. I recently replaced most of the major components in my computer and the new computer still does this.
My old setup:
AXPM 2400+
Abit NF7-S
2x512MB Mushkin Black Lvl II
X800 XT PE
Audigy 2
36GB Fujitsu MAU 15k RPM - LSI Logic LSIU160
300GB Maxtor DM 10 SATA
Pioneer A06 DVD
Antec 430W
New setup:
A64 Venice 3200+
DFI Lanparty S939 NF3
2x512MB Mushkin Redline PC 4000
X800 XT PE
Audigy 2
36GB Fujitsu MAU 15k RPM - LSI Logic LSIU160
300GB Maxtor DM 10 SATA
Pioneer A06 DVD
Seasonic S12 500W
I get the exact same crashes in games with both systems, so it has to be either the video, sound or SCSI card. Right before it crashed the last time I started getting weird polygon artifacts (polys looked like they were being dragged across the screen). Now, I tried to test the video overnight by running rthdribl figuring the X800 was overheating. After about 15 mins the GPU temp was 84C and I kept waiting for it to crash and it never did. I left rthdribl running overnight and it was still running 8 hours later without artifacts. Temp was 84C for 8 hours and it didnt crash or show artifacts. I have also run prime95 blend, small fft and large fft for 12 hours each and its completely stable, no errors. Any ideas whats going on here?
