System specs:

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester
eVGA 6800GT
1GB PC3200 Crucial Ballistix
WD 74GB Raptor
Maxtor Maxline 10 300GB HDD
Plextor 716SA
Antec TruePower 550W PSU

Basically in a nutshell last night I installed Windows. IT SEEMS when I was transferring files from a dvd to hard drive that the files (1GB in size) were flying to the hard drive at unbelievable speeds. Today I formatted again so that I could repartition my hard drives. After completing said format I tried to copy over those files to the hard drive again. It took almost 8 minutes or so that is what it said when transferring.

I'm wondering does it sound strange like it could be a driver issue with the SATA controller or what? Or was it just my luck that it transferred at blazing speeds last night and then after a format not as fast?

I don't understand what your post is about? I understand I can search google.com but perhaps if you had a more complete answer that would've been nice.
