Possible problem with Linksys Router (BEFSR41)?

I have bought a Linksys router and it was up and running for the past three days, connected to internet by a DSL modem.
I have also set the router to keep the connection alive indefinitely so that even if I turn the computer off the IP would stay the same.

However, today the internet would not work as IE would not be able get to any webpages nor to the router itself (192.168.1.1).
I restarted my computer twice and the problem persisted... So I turned off my DSL modem, my router, and computer and turned them on one by one. Everything started to work properly again.

Now, I know this router is pretty popular and was wondering if any of you guys had similar problems with the router.

I had problems like this in the past as well. Have you flashed the firmware to the latest version? That seemed to fix the problems I was having, and I've had no problems with the latest firmware (v1.40.2).

I am currently using the v1.39 firmware... hmmm. I guess I might upgrade to 1.40 but people on this board said that 1.39 was the last "good" firmware.
