Possible picture of a meterior strike

The fact that there are no closeups of the pole or debris on the ground make me suspect, shens.

Ever seen a bug fly in such a precisely straight line? I'd believe film artifact over bug.

I was in a Chalet this past weekend and we saw some of those that lit up the sky while we were in the hottub looking up at the stars. It was pretty amazing seeing the streaks in the sky.... Kind of scary too thinking that there are some that don't burn up in the atmosphere upon entry.

very interesting. I don't think it's a bug as buhs are notoriously spastic and almost never fly in such a straight line, although the "flash" at the end does resemble a bug with outstretched wings. Does it say conclusvely why they don't think it's a meteor? It seems the most logical explanation to me.

Off topic a bit, I see that some people suggest the streak is a contrail shadow. Coincidentally, this explains a phenomona I was going to ask about: a few weeks ago, I looked up at the sky, and saw a contrail. However, the trail; faded in and out, and where it disappeared, there were black streaks. At first I thought it was exhaust or something from the plane's engines, but the plane was still visible, and the black streak extended in front of the plane! I was very puzzled by that and the fact that it was the contrail's shadow explains that now.

BTW, look at this pic of a contrail shadow. Hmm...
