Possible new subscriber feature?

Wouldn't this be a cool addition to Fusetalk, and/or the AT Fusetalk:

A PM transfer. Basically, it sets up a peer-to-peer connection between the sender and receiver for small file transfers. I know this would increase server load, but both sender and receivers IP's are logged (at some point), so it wouldn't be that difficult to extract the necessary information. To ease the load on the servers, the feature could be limited to subscribers only.

It would be an incentive for people to subscibe, and it would also be an excellent way for Fusetalk to differentiate itself from its competitors.

It looks like you're proposing what might amount to mini-at-napster and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm misinterpreting your post.

Not sure I understand the value of this (if I understand the concept). Performance hit because some folks want the convenience of not having to use any number of other programs to transfer files (be they small or large)? Nah.

I for one don't see enough potential with this, other than the potential for abuse. I say stick to the ICQ's, the AIM's, the MSN's, etc.

I agree with Hossenfeffer. Besides the burden it would put on the servers, the potential for abuse is too great. I don't think it would be a good idea.
