I have been having random problems with my computer. Luckily I am building a new one son, but I'd like to find out what is really wrong with this one. Some of the issues:

-Shuts off randomly (not often though).
-Fails to find my hdd as a boot device (twice, had to go into bios and set EVERY boot device priority 1 through 5 as the hdd).
-Ethernet ports occasionally stop working.
-Poor gaming performance at lower than usual settings (might also be my 3 year old video card).
-Simple desktop tasks seem to take longer than normal, such as opening My Computer or watching a show from an image file with daemon tools (I keep it as clean as I can from malware and viruses, and defrag every once in a while).

Like I said, I've had it all for 4 years (video card 3 years), so I guess I can understand if it's just dying, but is there anything I can do to get it to last a little longer? Mobo fan died a couple months after I got it, so I got a replacement, and that one died within a couple months as well so I just forgot about it. Have never changed the mobo battery (how often should that be done if you leave your computer on 24/7 for the most part?). Anything else I can possibly check?

Thanks for any info or direction,
Aip
