Possible memory problem

OK< so I have 3 different sticks of memory. All 3 pass in one motherboard, and fail in another with the vdimm both set to +.2 OCZ PC 8500 (one example). I even tried the same power supply. If it was the motherboard, wouldn't it fail horribly ? not just 24-65 areas (varies)

Any ideas ???

There are occasional incompatibilities between certain brands, though I wish I knew why. What about if you only put 1 or 2 sticks in the troublesome board?

Also double check in the BIOS that the command rate is 2T. Some (most?) boards can't run 1T with more than 2 DIMMs.

First, this memory worked in this motherboard with no problems for 2 months !!!!!

The bad motherboard is GA-P35-DS4 (worked for 2 months)

The test motherboard is a GA-965P-S3

The memory is
1) 2 x 512 PC 6400 Ballistix
2) 2 x 512 PC 8000 Ballistix
3) 2 x 1 gig PC 8500 OCZ

All 3 work in the S3, all 3 fail on test2 on the DS4, but USED to work.

I have an RMA for the motherboard, but I have never seen this before.

Any more ideas ?

Mark,

It sounds like the power conditioning on the memory is going....

what version of memtest are you using ?

Interesting...very odd.

What about stability with Prime 95 or especially HCI Memtest?

I'd say it was timings/settings if it was one kit, but all three kits going wonky on one mobo would certainly make me wonder about the mobo...
