Before i got my ati aiw x800 xt card ii had an nvidia gforce 4 card in there. Eventually i'd be playing a game and the graphics would jus cut out and then everything would go pixelated and often times my computer would freeze or reboot. Eventually my comp kept rebooting without any picture on the moniter.
A peculiar thing happened when i would apply pressure from the bottom of the card: It would then work. I would consistently hold the card up with my hand and it would at least get thru initial bios. As soon as i removed pressure, the computer would start rebooting agian.. Eventually not even that would work so i thought my card just died and went out and bought the ATI AIW x800xt card. Now occasionally with this card quake 4 will freeze and i'll have to restart the computer completly. When i turn the machine on, right before windows loads i get a strange orange pixelated scramble and then windows loads. A friend of mine was playing quake 4 and had to restart 4 times due to freezing. Is it possible that the slot on the motherboard is loose and causing it to freeze? Or do you think it has to do with heating? Could it also be an issue of power? I don't quite know how to check these things out and apreciate any suggestions.
