Possible heart attack victim...

I was driving home and I saw some guy run across the street to where another man was laying down holding his chest. I circled back and hopped out to see if I could help. Wasn't much I could do, other than cover the guy with my jacket and try to talk to him and calm him down a bit. He was pretty much terrified, and all I could do was help him slow his breathing a bit. The other guy had a celly and was talking to the dispatcher. The EMTs came and gave him some O2 and I took off.

I am pretty sure he will be alright, but he wasn't that old. My second encounter with mortality in 5 days.

He probably was on the Atkins Diet

That's right. Too many people nowadays feel that they don't have to stop or care for anyone. Nice job !! 🙂

Any truth to this:

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without
help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to
feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and
very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and
the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from
deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without
let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating
normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze
the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on
the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack
victims can get to a hospital.

Dude I eat that stuff all the time, minus the egg nog (what is that stuff anyway?). During my vacation last week, we had that stuff practically every morning.

Eggnog is a drink partaken of usually during Christmastide. However, some people drink it all year round (*cough* Geekbabe *cough*).
