Okay, maybe I never noticed this in Halo 3, but sometimes I'm in cover and I pop out a bit to use my weapon, such as the much 'ed pistol and even though the reticle is red, my shots aren't hitting the target at all, but they "appear" to be hitting the object I'm in cover behind! Anyone else notice this in ODST?

Yes I have noticed that happening... I usually just step a bit further away from my cover when it happens. ;) But it's annoying because you can't always tell that you're hitting something right in front of you. Speaking of that pistol though, I love it. I was playing Halo 3 multiplayer on the Double XP ODST playlist last night, and your starting weapons are the pistol and the SMG. I kept wanting to zoom with the pistol, but I couldn't. :(

I'm glad and pissed to know I'm not the only person who has noticed this mugs! :( This is an attribute that I usually notice in "lower" quality/budget games! :|

As for the pistol finally being fun again, I feel your pain when you can't zoom in MP! :(

I've seen this in a majority of FPS games, it just comes with the territory. It has to do with the camera being in the player's head, but the projectiles come out of the barrel which is usually closer to center mass. The only true fix would have bullets coming out of the model's eyes, but that wouldn't look right. Or in the case of Call of Duty you could have the model raise the gun using iron sights. That's why in games like TF2 demoman grenades and medic needles actually fire slightly to the right of the crosshair at most distances.
