Maybe it's a coincidence, but I've experienced numerous PINGs last night and this morning.

It is conceivable that someone out there might also try some Internet warfare. Keep your shields up, everyone!

My wife noticed that too on our cable modem. Does anyone know what Norton Internet Security means when it says "unused port communication block"? All of a sudden we've been getting a lot of those.

Funny, my internet wouldn't work last night for hours -- Ping'ed to death -- I even told Salvador on this board that I couldn't msg him any longer cuz my modem wasn't working --- On and off ---

I believe you're getting lost packets because of the increased web traffic.Don't worry those monkeys are too dumb to use computers

Those "monkeys" just killed hundreds if not thousands of people in the most intellegently devistating way that I could imagine. No bombs, no gas , they just turned our lack of security against us.

Whether the two are related or not, please keep your shields up. A lot of stuff could happen on the Net in the next few days.

Best to watch out anyway.

could just be traffic... cnn.com has be turned into almost purely text-based... i cant get on msnbc... so i think it is just hightened traffic.

How about launching some hack attacks against these Jihads ourselves? Any sites to post? I am pretty sure we will be given amnesty against any law we could be breaking.

vegetation, yes we could do that but remember that we still don't know who the perpetrators of this crime are. Yes, we have our theories and suspicions but that's not enough to warrant a retaliatory strike.

besides, what are we gonna hack into? An old 8-bit cannibalized nintendo that they use to test their bomb connections? Sorry if this sounds condescending, it isn't meant that way. It's just that I don't think there's anything a hacker could do. They have, inadvertently, hackerproofed themselves it seems.

Time to lock down the PC.

I even am going to power my network down when I get offline.
I believe I have a secure network. But, these are crazy times.
