I seem to remember seeing a thread about this, but I cannot find it. In any case, that thread had a lot of questionable speculation.
Today, a thread appeared on FatWallet.

In short, Russ S McGuire (all Sprint customers should know him as the Sprint VP who gives out his info for the EPRP phone deals) has said that starting in October, SERO customers will be able to upgrade their plans to include phones that were previously blocked from SERO plans. These phones include anything based on WebOS, Android, and some other operating systems. The cost of the upgrade will be an additional $10 per month for most phones, and $20 per month for 4G phones, such as the EVO.
