Possible for Google Chrome to display download speed?

I love the browser and have fully made the switch from Firefox. However, what annoys me is that the download manager does not display the download speed. Is there a way to get Chrome to display it?

I'm pretty sure the speeds are listed in the download page, not sure about any extensions for the bar at the bottom though.

It's hard to believe, but even here in 2014 Google Chrome has only the most rudimentary download features. And there still aren't even any third-party extensions that allow you to see download speeds, or to download more than one item from a page. Don't ask me why it's taking so long to catch up with Firefox in this way!

No offense, but is it really that hard to just go to the downloads page? And I disagree with you about not being able to download more than one item from a page, that's simply not true. I do it daily.
