<< I hate posting virus news (especially when I haven't had a chance to verify it myself), but considering the risk involved this time I'm willing to bend the rules. Borsti at RIVA Station sent a warning my way regarding versions of the Detonator 3 drivers that may (and I want to stress the word may) be stricken with a Trojan horse virus. The details:
This morning I received an E-Mail that the Anti Virus Software Norman Virus Control 4.8 finds a Trojan in the latest leaked v6.31 drivers. I checked it back with the software (http://www.norman.com) and it really alerts. BUT: It does also alert with 6.18 (even the official from the NVIDIA server at http://www.nvidia.com/products.nsf/htmlmedia/detonator3.html) and other versions. Every time it's the file agp16xx.exe.
** Norman Virus Control RT Scanner: Possible virus found! **
** Date: Oct.4. 09:31:18
** C:\BACKUP\AGP168E.EXE -> Gaban.1_1.Trojan

He goes on to conclude:
So I think it's 99.9% a FALSE ALERT! I've back tested with Norton Anti Virus and it finds absolutely nothing.
Already fired off an e-mail to NVIDIA; hopefully we'll something more to report later today. >>
