Possible Dead WiFi card after power outage?

Apparently, in the middle of the night, the power went out as I went to wake my PC and found the option to resume instead. No big deal, except the wifi card (Asus PCE-N53), while able to detect it, seems unable to identify my router. Ok, no problem, reboot. Same thing. The card can see my network, but cannot identify it. Boot into safe mode, again, same problem.

So I uninstall the wifi drivers, grab some updated ones through my phone, install them. Same damn thing. The card detects my router (and my other devices work fine on it btw) but it cannot get past identification for internet access.

At this point, I am suspecting hardware damage. I don't have any other wifi cards to test, but would the above be grounds to warrant an RMA?

Edit: typing all this from my phone.

Also, pulled the card but there appears to be no evidence of damage nor even a smell.

Edit 2: Switched the card to another PCI-e slot. It works, though it is a bittersweet moment as the mobo may have taken damage.

Have you rebooted the router/modem?

Twice. The modem and router work just fine on my laptop and phones.

After moving the card to a new slot, it is working perfectly now, which is honestly not good as the card, by far, is cheaper than the board. I suspect the slot the card was formerly in may be dead, or I didn't seat it right the first time, which I may test later.

True, I could be "that dude" with the RAID 50 and a dead RAID card due to a bad slot, and would have to spend piles of cash for data recovery. :sneaky:
