Possible dead board. MSI KM4M. HELP!

GF's MB died last night and I wanted a quick cheap replacement for it since all she uses it for is basic word processing. I picked up a KM4M and brought it home, got it installed in the case, memory(Kingston value ram 256mb DDR2100), and CPU(Duron 1.3) installed. Went to power it on......nothing....checked everything...power....still nothing. I've pulled the MB out of the case and put an old one in there...powers right up. Is there something I'm possibly missing or am I right in suspecting I was sold a dead board?

Enermax.....

Took the board back yesterday and got a replacement....everything is ok now.
