Possible?: Connect Windows laptop to Linux system?

Hi everyone,
Like the subject says, I'd like to connect a windows laptop to a linux system to share data between the two. Reason?: the linux rack server doesn't have a dvd-rom, but the windows laptop does. Is it possible to connect the two systems together so that the Linux will have access to the Windows dvd-rom? Please let me know, thanks!

You could mount the DVD with smbmount to read files, but you won't be able to play movies because you need raw access to the device to do that.

Thanks for the tip NothinMan! This could be the solution i need! I just need to access the dvd-rom to read data files. How should I connect the two systems together though? Via LAN? cross-over cables? something else?
