possible conflict between Promise Fasttrak66 and Abit KA7?

I was wondering if anybody else has had problems with the Abit KA7 and Promise Fasttrak66 conflicting with each other.

My main problem is that I'm trying to install Win2k Server and I consistently cannot make it through the initial setup process of installing the required system files to the hard drive. Each time, any number of files are reported as not properly copied to the hard drive, but it's never the same group of files twice. I've tried using 2 different CDs various times, so I know it's not the CDs themselves.

My own personal experience has been that the KA7's latest BIOS revision (RX) renders the Fasttrak66 virtually useless (if installing Win2k Server), and when coupled with the Fasttrak66's latest BIOS and drivers (v1.30), the RAID controller is COMPLETELY useless. In fact, in this last situation, I could not even see the hard drive when booting from a Win98 system disk.

Now when I use the RK BIOS revision for the KA7, I CAN see the hard drive using a Win98 system disk and the 1.30 Fasttrak66 BIOS, but I STILL get the same file copying errors in Win2k Server setup.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanx for your time,

chris
