It's not so much the bugs (You'll rarely see many of them anyway), as it is the actual "job".
I know a few people who have tried this and they say it's more sales than exterminating.
They provide you with a few leads from folks who call in, but it's up to you to sell them on some more expensive job.
They also expect you to do "cold calls", stop at homes you "think" may be in need of your services, offer them a free inspection, then sell them whatever you can.
Some of these guys make claims to the homeowner that they are infested with such-and-such when they are not, hoping the homeowner is gullible enough to buy their services.
It's a good, easy, relatively clean job for the most part, but you gotta be a "salesman" if you want to make any money at all.
But yeah, I would stick with a salaried or hourly wage job if it were me.
