Possible AIM virus attack

Got an invite to a chatroom, just about every SN beginning with NY. The guy had a bunch of SN's that began with X and had a bunch of random characters following, and had a link in his profile to "free porn passwords," or something similar (example-xhy1n09160557988). He kept spamming the message:

HEY EVERYONE.........................CHECK MY PROFILE TO FIND OUT WHY YOU ARE HERE

Me being the idiot I am, I stayed and made sure nobody clicked the link... I'm assuming it was a virus, but I dunno. I have the link copied into Word, but I have no idea what it is. Anybody experience anything similar?

Welcome to AIM for the last 2 years. 😛

Yeah, it's been happening a lot. Nothing new really. Just more annoying as of late.
