Go to OfficeMax pickup their weekly ad, K-byte 256MB PC133 for 44.xx$ after instant rebate.

Go to BestBuy, they have same ram for 69.99 before 30$ Rebate.

PM, if you are lucky, you can get an additional 10% for the difference. I paid 75$(including tax)-29$PM-30$MIR.

bigmouth:

Thanks. This is really hot. I read your post and ran to BB. Grabbed the K-Byte and went to the front register.

When there, I asked about the price match, she looked at the OM ad and showed her manager. Sure enough, they gave me the $44.95 price. I then asked about the 10% of the difference, after one call, she took 10% off. I now sit with 256 Meg PC133 memory for $12.92 after Rebate and Tax.

For some reason, they didn't advertise the $30 rebate on the 256Meg in the Sunday flyer.

Thanks so much. I would change your title from possible to Red Hot

the best buy i went to would only match to the 'after' rebate price, i.e. they said that theirs was already 'cheaper' since it was $39.99 after rebate, and the office max price was $44.99. anyone know if this is their official policy? i didn't pursue it further via a manager...maybe i should have?

I got denied when I check out. I didn't argue and bought it with 75$.

Then went to customer service. show the lady the receipt (without rebate form) and the OM flyer. As I expected, she didn't dig into the rebate thing. because it's not on the original receipt.

Worked perfectly for me! :)

$42.92 out the door from BB, with $30 rebate form & rebate receipt in hand, $12.92 final price after rebate (plus postage;))

And no, they did not have any GF4Ti4600's in stock, no they were not offering any kind of specal preorder deal.:(

The funny thing is, they were all out of the pos GF4MX cards:Q:confused:

Thanks bigmouth.

The guy at the checkout started to have second thoughts about the pricematch when the rebate form printed out at the end. He's like "our price would be cheaper with the rebate so I shouldn't have done the pricematch." I said "Oh well" and grabbed my stuff and headed for the door. $43.70 out the door and $30 back in 8 - 10 weeks.

scored! also got the cashier to do the 110% thing. She wasnt sure so she had to call her manager over. I showed her their policy and she said YUP. Came out to be $43.xx. The rebate printed out after the manager left. She goes, and heres ur rebate. And indeed it is $30. Woohoo $13.xx + a stamp for 256mb pc-133.

well, i went back tonight and spoke with the manager regarding their policy, and he told me "sure, i can give you that $44xx price, AND the rebate forms" when i told him what the associate had told me yesterday about matching after rebate prices, he said he was sorry, that employee was wrong. so i marched back to get my memory and (you guessed it) out of stock. FERTS!.....but i will be back! meanwhile, get 'em while they're hot, folks, and don't let any associates give you any crap. see the m.o.d!

Where are you folks. The only memory on sale at CCs in Wisconsin is Centon and that is all that I can find listed for sale on CC's website. The BBs around here do not carry Centon, but do have the K-byte. So this looks like a NO GO here.

Yeah, k-byte at BB is what this deal's about. price match with the office max ad price. then use the BB $30 rebate. cool, eh?

The BB i went to honored this even after callling OM since it was an instant rebate at OM. Ie., it's the price at the register that determines whether BB will PM.

Is there a limit of the BB rebate?

I got AM1 style chips. Anyone get anything else? Anyone know who the manufacturer is?

Sorry about my brain f**t, it must be my age. I was flipping between the Rio 600 deal at CC & BB and this thread at OM & BB. Well back in the car to see about memory (which I obviously need) and whether BB is now givingout $50 rebates on the Rio. They weren't yesterday.

Got this deal last night. Paid for the memory first, then went back and PM at the return counter. Worked like a charm - even got the 10% difference. Since it was the return counter they didn't even know there was a rebate.

My only issue is that the one I got won't work in my Duron 1000/Abit KT7. The memory chipset is Sycom or something (it has the "S" hologram sticker on the top chip). Anyone have any luck with that mobo and this memory, and if so, what chip?

Is it possible to order online for instore pickup and still get the PM with office max? With a $30 geoforce coupon, they'd be paying you $10 to take it off their hands.

Well I just scored a stick at Best Buy's Milpitas store. They have about 4 left after I got mine. A tip on getting the best out of your deal though... Buy it at regular price then go to the cust service desk then pricematch. This way you can get that extra 10%.

The CSR that did by pricematch was cool. No questions or need to check with the manager... Did the pricematch up front. (Maybe because OfficeMax is just the next building over?)
