He's working out with the team today, and hopefully he'd like to stay. I firmly believe that if Moss brings his heart, he is the best in the game, even now.

I just hope that Harbaugh has the charm and charisma to convince Moss to leave his heart in SF!

Edit: Done deal! YES YES YES!!!!

Moss only brings his heart when he has a good QB throwing to him. I don't see him being happy in SF unless Peyton takes over the reins.

Hmmm....

Moss + Wayne + Clark + Davis
+ Gore out of backfield
carry the Peyton
Subtract the Smith
= Win?

Well when you put it like that..

But really you just need to add Peyton and I'd be estatic. Moss has too much baggage and much riskier. Granted I feel Gore and Davis could keep him in check, but if he's lost a step, why bother.

until randy moss matures, he'll just be an attention whore.

don't get me wrong, he's one hell of an athlete
but until he grows up, he's just another assclown on the field.

A lot of people keep saying that Moss is his old self, but I think he had changed, and for the better. After his stint with the Titans, he wanted to play for the Pats again, and couldn't so he quit. I think something in him changed then.

At this point in his life, I think he wants to win.

Moss needs to not be the alpha dog. If there's someone that clearly is a notch above him on the totem pole (Brady, Culpepper), he gets in line and plays well. If he's in there with a less talented QB, his ego takes over (Collins). It only makes sense to take Moss if you also have Manning, otherwise he'll steamroll Alex Smith.

does the niners have cap space for moss, wayne and manning?
I don't think they have the cap for all, but if Moss signs, the contact will be back loaded and incentives laden. They may have the cap for Manning, but they already said they're not interested. I don't think they're even looking at Wayne.

I think be having full training camp, plus picking up Moss, and having Morgan coming back from injuries will help out tremendously on the receiving corps and red zone woes.

Then they can spend some money on the O-line...

Not as much as Denver...who has like 40 million. Niners have around 21 million. I think it really depends on contract structure and how much each guy would settle for.

So that is why they suddenly want peyton...they want to recreate the Pats path to almost perfection...Have fun dealing with a guy who dogs it half the time.

Wouldn't Manning alone kill their 21 million cap space?

Moss signed a 1-year contract with 49-ers...sounds like everything happened right on the spot after Harbaugh got to throw to him.

or maybe they were the few teams that were really interested....

Looks like he may end his career where TO started his.

I've been a Niners fan my whole life and I think this is a horrible deal, considering the latest trends from Randy Moss.

Teams can't double Vernon all day now. The Saints witnessed firsthand how that turns out.

I'm not a niners fan at all, but I think this is a good deal. I think Moss will really try, he knows this is his last opportunity and doesn't want to be out of the league like TO.

Maybe a year off is good for him but you just don't know. This is either going to look like the best deal ever or the worst deal ever.
