ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 motherboard with Tiamat 7.1 Surround Sound headset.

I'm not entirely sure where else to post this, but it only happens on one game (Grim Dawn). I've spoke in-depth with the developers and they've checked all of the programming on their end and assure me it must be a driver issue. This is the last thing they told me about the issue on their end so maybe someone can get some more information and hopefully help me find a fix:
All those games could potentially be using different sound middleware which may interact differently with your drivers.

All the game does is tell our middleware (directsound 8, so kinda old but unlikely to be in itself bugged) "the player is at position X, facing in direction Y, play a sound at point A". Assuming that the positions and directions are correct, which I've checked, there isn't anything else to it. Everything else is handled by windows/drivers.

I've checked all my drivers and they are up to date and I've tested my sound on at least 20 different games ranging from brand new (Fallout 4/Just Cause 3) to ancient (D2, Evil Islands, Brood War, Warcraft 2: BNE, etc.) and every one of them work perfectly fine for positional sounds.

This is a screenshot of the audio options to which my headset defaulted to "Speakers (Realtech High Def Audio)". Using "Speakers", all of the sounds are as they should be except for the positional audio - sounds that are ahead of me play in the rear channels and vice versa but left and right seem to be just fine. So I switched it to "Primary Sound Driver" and while this one works for positional, all of the other sounds are wrong (ambient sounds are extremely loud, combat is quiet, etc.).

I'm clinging to a final hope that someone here knows more about surround sound headsets and knows of a possible solution. Any information is greatly appreciated.
