My parents bought a 20" flat screen Symphonic from walmart on Black Friday and it recently started crapping out by turning off randomly. I'll be watching TV, and it'll suddenly turn off, and the length of time from till I can turn it back on can be anywhere from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes.

Anyway, its been like 2 months since we bought it, will wally world let us exchange this thing for a new one?

Bring it back and get your money back. They don't have another one to replace it if it was a black Friday special most likely. PM if you would like more info on returning it to wallyworld.

I had a tv for a while that started doing that. I would have to unplug it then plug it back in....it kept getting worse and worse until it started making noises and smelled like it was burning.

It took mine a few years though.

This one was a Sharp 13", my parents have the same ones playing QVC almost 24 hours a day in the kitchen and my mom's sitting room :)

Symphonic = Funai. Actually there are several brands that are made by Funai and none of them are too great. Me, I'll stick with my Samsung TV thank you very much :)

man, they really don't build tv's like they used to. i remember when i was ounger, my parents came home with a new 13" tv. back then, it was hot sh!t. why? i dunno... i guess becuz it was so small and convenient? it's one of those before remotes were widely implemented... it had the dials u had to turn. it still fires up and functions like the frst day we got the thing. sadly... i seldom use it anymore becuz of my dependency on my remote.

What do you expect. It's a Symphonic. Did you do any sort of search or anything and find about 10,000 warning you NOT to ever buy that brand?

*sigh*

If they won't accept the return... Just buy another symphonic TV... there was a thread in hot deals about them... they're even cheaper than on Black Friday now (in the stores that still have them)... apparently, enough people know how crappy they are that WalMart can't get rid of all of them. (then return the bad one in the box for the new one)

I agree, I still have my 13" RCA back from Christmas 84 and it works great. Haven't used it much in the past five years as it's a small screen with mono sound, but this thing must have thousands of hours on it.
