Bidder on one of my items that is about to close retracted his bid with less than 10 minutes left claiming he couldnt contact me. :| I've recieved NOTHING from this guy, and I know ebay's email is working because I've recieved mail from several other people. WTF. :| Makes me look bad and now I dont know if the 2nd highest bidder will want it!

10 minutes! Why are you complaining? I know it sucks, but that is more than enough time for a serious bid from another buyer.:Q

If the bid is retracted, isn't the second highest bidder now the highest bidder, and obligated to buy it?

I did, just got a bunch of lowballs. Ended up selling for +40 more on ebay anyways.

Well, it was like 7 minutes but I guess it doesnt matter. Some professer of U of Iowa sniped in at the last second and drove it up $30.

Still, the fact he lied pisses me off.

some bidder just bid $20 on a dead motherboard, even though my first paragraph mentions dead, not working, defective, etc at least 4 times.

You do realize that even though he retracted, the second highest bidder's amount is now higher than it was before he bid?

no it wasn't, because I was watching. The item was $710 and the retraction brought it down $10.

It's possible that the bid retractor was conspiring with the second highest bidder. Luckily for you, those damn snipers struck again :D
