Ports to forward for half life/counter strike

I have the Netgear RT314 router, which ports do I need to forward to play half life. Plus, I am having problems downloading updates for half life. It keeps telling me to check the internet connection. Help?

Just to play you don't need to forward any ports. If you host a server you do, port 27015. If your just trying to play, sounds like you have a router setup issue.
