Portrait Mode on 8800GT

Has anyone tried Portrait Mode on an 8800GT? The cards looks really good and I'm looking to move from a 1950XT. I have had problems before with Nvidia cards in portrait mode. Seems that there is no native support for Nvidia cards. The NV rotates seems to be a software option but the 3D graphics are horrid. The 8600 series seemed to support portrait mode from what I've heard but I'm hearing that the 8800 cards don't support portrait mode again. I've been sticking with ATI cards for awhile now but the 8800GT is really tempting. I have a 20" Dell Ultrasharp (4:3) in portrait mode. Except for gaming, I think this is the way to go for everything else.
