One of 2 teams undefeated on their home court, todays road win at Detroit makes 4 in a row.
Coach McMillan has the Blazers playing well going into December. Przybilla has been a force down low, and now Oden coming along...I love how my Blazers are coming together as a team. How about that Nicolas Batum? That kid is going places, looks to be another awesome Pritchard pick!

Might be a short stay on top of the NW division with the Jazz and Nuggets vying for the top spot, but Portland looks like a contender in the West already

We'll have to see how they do without veteran's in the off season though - that's where it's key to have some savvy vet's who don't fold during crunch time matter.

Brandon Roy is one of the best players in the NBA most have never heard of.

He's their crunch time guy.

What about him? Aldridge and Roy are Portland's go-to guys.

Portland has a really nice, young team.

The key for the Blazers is to not wear down by the end of the season. With so many young guys, they're not used to the NBA schedule and really fade toward the end of the season.

He'll have to earn his spot competing against Webster and now Batum. I think its going to be tough sitting Batum the way he's been playing. Martell will be back this week, Travis better pick up his game ;)

Well, here we are....last regular season NBA game tonight vs the Denver Nuggets. A Blazer win tonight gives them the same 54 - 28 record as the Division leading Denver Nuggets to end the regular season.

They can't win the Northwest Division by beating Denver tonight because Denver holds the tie breaker over Portland, however, the Blazers are in a position to wrap up home court advantage for round #1 of the play-offs.

Martell never made it back :(

The team has exceeded my expectations though. They didn't fade down the stretch this year, in fact, they are on a bit of a tear. This past month they took the Cavs to overtime in Cleveland, and drilled the Lakers, Jazz, Suns and the Spurs. They've won 9 of their last 10 games (which included 6 road games including the loss at Houston) and looking strong.

Aldridge has been a force, Roy is playing great basketball and Oden has been putting in some strong performances as well. With home court, the Blazers could actually win a series this year. They have had a rough time with play-off bound Western conference teams, but have looked much better over the past few weeks....who knows?

Big night for them. Today will decide if the blazers finish 2nd in their conference, or 5th.

I hate Roy (as an opponent), he's one of those special point guards that no matter what you throw at him he can still run the show and get a good shot off anytime he wants. Its frustrating as heck.

I don't care if the Blazers win the championship. I'm still holding a grudge for what those assholes did to Rick back in the early 90's. Screw the Blazers, I hope they never ever win ever again.

:brokenheart:

The '92 team was awesome.

Assuming they can keep contracts in check, that's a team that's a veteran role player or two away from a decade worth of championship runs.

X-factor is Greg Oden.

If (big if) he can stay healthy and be at least a dominant defensive force he is/was projected to be the Blazers will win multiple NBA titles in the next decade.

The '92 team was awesome.

To Rick? hell, they dismantled the entire Drexler-era Blazers with Trader Bob, moved into the Rose Garden (ending the longest sell-out streak in Pro sports history at 814 games) and brought in a bunch of thugs who could win, but alienated the fans and embarrassed the city.

I've been a fan since 1970, so that only represents an era, but yea, those early 90's teams were awesome :)

Adleman was the linch pin, though. If he'd not have been pushed out, the team wouldn't have gone to hell (I don't think).

JR Smith hopefully lights it up.

I want Portland to grab the #2 or #3 seed, so that they can make it to the conference finals, only to see the Lakers stomp on them like 2000.

Free throws bitch. We own you.

I still love Adelman, he was on the original Blazer team and coached a local college team before going to the pros...great guy, but his Portland Teams had already gone to hell, losing key games down the stretch.

Nate will get us some championships ;)

Yes, and now that they've kicked out all the thugs and actually have a decent shot at making a playoff run for the first time in over a decade, you're going to let a 17 year old grudge keep you from liking the team? That's petty. But it's sports, so who the hell cares I guess...

That said, I really do like this Blazer team. They're great fun to watch, they're really meshing as a team, and as a bunch of young guys that's promising because it means they can grow together and (hopefully) stay a cohesive unit. There's a lot of potential there. And they're actually decent people to boot; no more Jailblazers.

I also like the fact that the Western Conference, with the obvious exception of LA, is so evenly matched that you have 4 teams within a game of each other heading into the final game of the regular season. A fourway race to determine who will be 2, 3, 4 and 5? Awesome.

We've had trouble in Denver, but they're going to run into a little trouble here at the Rose Garden;)

So true, going down to the last game of the season...it doesn't get better than that.

I grew up in Oregon as a huge Blazers fan, however I moved up to Seattle during the period when the team was falling apart, and became a Sonics fan (never thought that would happen).

Now, the sonics are gone, and the Blazers are looking good....RIP CITY =)

Although, in all honesty, I still have not gotten back in to the Blazers like I did in the 90's...I loved them...

Oden has to figure out how to play without fouling. 4 fouls in 22 minutes. No way can he be a force in the playoffs unless he gets a handle on this.
