Portland Timbers National Anthem Opening Day

Hehe. I live here, so I take it personally. If you'd left that T out, I'd find you. FIIIIIIIND YOUUUUUU.

but that's another reason I love Oregon. People sing along with the anthem here. It's heart warming and freaking electric.

At least we're not stupid enough to insult an entire city while obviously not knowing anything about the place.

It was more of a poke at soccer but you can take it anyway you want I guess... The poster above you seems to agree though. :hmm:

Meh, I won't go to a soccer game here. I'm kinda bitter and it's a personal issue for me. My mom used to take me to Beavers games every year since I was knee high to a grasshopper. It became tradition to go to a Beavers game and Portland kicked me in the balls by dismissing the baseball team in favor if a fucking retarded game.

I refuse to go to any soccer game here simply on personal principle and I'm full of piss and vinegar about it.

I fail to see why anyone would bother with soccer right now while the Winterhawks are still in the playoffs.

How do the WHL playoffs work? I know there are 7 games and Portland has won 4. Is that it or is it based on points after 7 games?

There are 4 rounds, each best of 7. Portland has now won the 1st 2 rounds and is the favorite now. The winner of the WHL then plays in the Memorial Cup tournament against the other 2 winners of the Major Junior leagues plus the host city.

Next round is either against Tri-Cities or Spokane and the next 2 games are Friday at 7 PM and Sunday at 5 PM (Good Friday and Easter Sunday - sucks to have to play around the Trail Blazers).

Because it allows a large segment of Portland's population to pretend they're European, which they love. They even get to bike and take trains to the game! Now if they could smoke in the stadium, that would probably be the ultimate.

We don't pretend to be European. We live in a city we love to hate because it's run by a bunch of tree hugging hipster dipshits who think the idea of a bubble curb is a good idea. I hope every bicyclist who's on the road gets run over by the vehicles they think they're entitled to cross in front of and have right-of-way over. The lightrail company is STEALING money from tax payers and the government is letting them get away with it. I like the atmosphere here, but the only people who push for this "european" garbage are hated by the rest of us "normal" people.
