What do you guys that have played Portal 2 think about it I loved the first but is the second one worth the price or is there a better game on Steam under $30 and CSS is a sexy deal for under $7 me thinks.

I thought Portal 2 was an excellent game. I paid full price when it came out and thought it was worth every penny, probably more considering the number of stinkers I paid full price for. I'd have to see whats available for under $30, but I dont think you can go wrong with Portal 2 at $20. You can get ARMA II Combined Operations and install DayZ mod, which is the popular PC game ATM. Check out gameplay videos on Youtube to see if its something you'd like. TF2 is free...hard to beat that price.

You can also hold out for the summer Steam sale, which should start in a couple weeks.

If you can wait, I'd suggest holding out for two weeks. The summer sale should start around then and you'll be able to buy a lot of games for $30.

Portal 2 has been on sale for $7.50 a few times. I picked it up and found it worth that, but nothing more, I really didn't care for the game much honestly. The best part was the writing, the puzzles were easy and even though it isn't a long game, it started to feel long near the end I was just wanting to finish it.

Agree that the puzzles were on the easy side -- a bit more complex with the added solution elements, but not particularly challenging skill-wise. The story and the music and the overall atmosphere of the game are great, though.

I think Portal 2 easily improves on the first game. There is more flair in the plot (albeit slightly long, as pointed out above), more ironic humour around and overall it is greatly polished. I think the improvement is similar to Assassin's Creed 2 being an excellent sequel to AC1.

I truly enjoyed the story and felt is was worth the $60 I paid for it. Some of the puzzles are pretty easy but with Steam Workshop there are countless additional chambers you can play through. But as said, I'd wait for the Summer Sales, it will likely go on sale.

I'd hold off on CSS at this point, CS:GO will be out in August for only $15. Your call on that one though.
