Has anyone had experience with a portable washer? I recently moved into a small condo, and looking into getting this:

A plumber quoted me a lot of money to get a hookup for a washer/dryer. He says the reason its expensive is because it would be more than 6" from where the washer would be placed to the drain line, would require extra plumbing. The wall would need to be broken down, might have to cut into the kitchen tile, etc. He said the plumbing would be $5k, seems a bit much. Another reason for the high price he said would be due to permits, inspection and building it to code. I have no clue about plumbing, but it seems way too high. Guess I'll get another estimate.
