Update: I think this may just be that the cord is loose... when I move it around I can either have the drive work if it's pointed one direction, or not work at all in another direction. Guess I should either return it or put up with this.
This is the usb drive:

Cliff's Notes
-USB Watch drive only a few months old, only moderate at most use
-Suddenly acting very flaky when connected for no reason, not recognized, may work for a moment and then go out on me, error msg about using a usb 1.1 port when it's in a 2.0, etc
Luckily I have a one year warranty, but I'd like to make sure it really is dead... the LED can still light up.
Today my roommate wanted me to help him patch up his PC, so I put Service Pack 2 on the usb drive. It transfers fine. I hook it up to his PC on a front USB port (that worked with a printer fine) and XP tells me it's an unrecognized device. Later I wanted to put something else on the drive, and now my computer won't recognize it. It's actually detected it as a drive too, but it shows up as empty and I get an error when I try to move files there. It also comes up with some nonsense about how it's USB 2.0 and in a 1.1 port when it's in a 2.0.
Someone told me I should reinstall USB drivers, could that work?
EDIT: I just plugged it in again and actually saw my files, but it's being very flaky. I deleted a file (SP2), but then it went out again. The LED goes out at the same time.
EDIT2: Ok this is strange, just retried another USB port on the back of my PC. I was able to transfer some Python source code to the drive just fine... Not sure what's up. Maybe the wire is loose.
