Portable laptops with high res screens?

I imagine an MBA with retina may come out soon, but in the meantime are there any portable laptops with high res screen? I am thinking <14" with res higher than 1366x768.

Specs not terribly important, will be used mainly for internet. I also suspect some Windows 8 x86 tablets with high res displays may be in the future.

Asus Zenbook Prime refresh will bring 1920x1080 to 11.6" and 13.3".

Sony S or SA series has 1600x900 in 13.3". Sony Z series has 1920x1080 in 13.1".

Shop carefully because some of these are also available at lower resolutions.

Regarding MBA, 2560x1600 13.3" might be on the way for the next product refresh.

Wow thanks! that zenbook looks great, I'm blown away by the idea of an 11" IPS display, 620M would have been great but I can do without. I will have to check prices as it would have to be <=$1000 CDN.

That's going to be tough. Most of these high res screens are going on the "ultrabook" machines, which are generally more expensive. The 1080p version of the zenbook is $1300 USD and that looks to be common with high res screens right now. Asus has a lot of new products coming up though, so another one may fit your needs for a bit cheaper.

The Samsung Series 9 has 1600x900 and it has a better screen tech called super PLS which is essentially upgraded IPS also the brightness is higher at 400 nits.
