I am looking for some speakers and stumbled across the choiix boom boom speakers ... they seem like they would work great being USB powered and everything ....

I found a review for them here

What ya think?

Why can't you just use your laptop speakers? They're not so horrible these days, and they'll give you more surround than those ever will.

I got the Logitech v10 (I think) and they are great. USB powered, lightweight, came with a carrying pouch so I can transport them more easily. They are a little light on the bass, but get plenty loud. You can get them on ebay for about $20 I think.

Lots to choose from.
The speakers the OP mentioned were only powered by USB, they received audio data through the 3.5mm jack. Is that the same with the ones in the list?

if its an old school laptop are you using it as a desktop?
if so you are better off getting bigger speakers. most dinky laptop speaker things don't have enough sound quality to justify being carried around

I got this bundle when I purchased my laptop. The speakers are very thin and have magnets so you can put them together for travel. They sound a lot better than the built-in speakers on the laptop. Plus the other accessories weren't bad. It was a lot cheaper when I got it though.
