portable gaming console?

So, I'm off to aus in a couple of months which means 40 to 45 hours of flying, plus loads of waiting around in airports. Whilst reading is sweet, I'm thinking of a console, but have been out of the game for a long time. The PSP looks expensive, so I think it's out. I'll not use it much, if at all when I return so I'm looking for somthing pretty cheap, preferably with cheap games, and able to last a fair amount of time on a single charge.

Right now I'm thinking of picking up a classic gameboy and a load of games second hand, but any other ideas would be sweet.

DS Lite is by far the best choice then IMO.

Awesome battery life, works with Gameboy Advanced games (which are cheap) and has some killer new games like New Super Mario Brothers.

And it's cheap, brand new cost $130.
