Am working as a traveling nurse, and my apt/furniture budget come out of the contract I cut with my employer, have been thinking about going with portable (to keep more $), easy to transport furniture (I end up moving every 3-9 months), so portability is very important.

I figured with so many member here in or recently in college some of you may have suggestions I haven't thought of.

The sticking points are a sofa and bed... Both massively bulky and a pain in the ass to move/transport.

The aluminum folding tables will work for a dining room table, a computer desk, coffee table, and nightstand(s) I don't need a dresser, I really don't travel with that many clothes.

Suggestions?

Futon. Covers your sofa and bed.

Why not just rent furnished places or stay in one of those Extended Stay hotels? (Don't know if this is feasible since I don't know what kind of budget you are working with.)

The Extended stay places aren't very pleasant, I was in 1, and it was cramped & smelled, no room to set up HTPC or really relax.

Inflatable mattress and folding chairs?

Have been looking at this: Cabela's for a bed, it should work well.

I'm driving my F250 so I can haul quite a bit of stuff...

that is sweet. How much does it weigh?

Also, Sams Club has those collapsing portable chairs for $20 that are actually fairly comfortable.

Kind of like this one:

Dunno how much it weighs, but it looks near perfect, I can even put a modified bedskirt on it so it looks good...

Ikea Poang chairs. They're not foldable or anything, but they're not very bulky, and are VERY comfortable.
