Portable credit card processing

Let's say that instead of taking a check when you perform a service at someone's home, you want to accept a credit card as a form of payment. How can you do this?

Get a credit card processing machine, and a cellphone with an adapter for a phone line, and it'll dial into the processing system through your cell. People have been doing it for years.

They have those little machines that make a carbon copy of the card and they process it later. They use them on the airlines and such...

You can get mobile units that use the cell network. They use em for tour busses and such. I don't know how one gets one though.
