Portable CDRW for notebook?

I'm looking for a portable CDRW for notebook. It should be at least 4x (any faster?), and not parallel-port type.
What options do I have now?
Is it possible for me to use an internal/external CDRW for PC ? How should the connection be made then?
Need info asap. Thanks.

I have an external 12x Plextor that I take with me on long trip. But the PCMIA card might be a little pricey though.

Paldo,
I'm very interested in your experience.
In fact, I have PW1210 internal in my PC now, and I'm considering a Plextor for my portable CDRW too, but I found out that they don't offer a PCMCIA model.
Is your Plextor IDE or SCSI?
How do you connect the external drive to PCMCIA card ?
Does Plextor external have PCMCIA connector?
