Portable CD/MP3 player advice needed...

I've decided to snag a portable CD/MP3 player, and I was hoping to get some opinions on some particular models. I don't plan on paying anymore than $120. As of now, I am leaning towards the iRiver IMP-350 SlimX. I found it for $109 shipped. I checked out the Sony models but they didn't seem as full featured in that price range. Any opinions will be appreciated.

Also, if I pick up the iRiver, should I snag the Sennheiser MX300 earbuds as an upgrade? TIA.

Why not get it from amazon.com for $99 - $10 coupon? While you are there, read the 200 or so reviews on it. That should help you out. 🙂

I'm considering this model as well!

Hey, thanks for the reply. Amazon has it for $99.94, but I can find no $10 off coupon, and they it will ship in 1-2 weeks. The place I found it for $109 also has free shipping, it is in stock, and only the next state over. If I could find the coupon, I might wait for Amazon to get it in stock.
 
do a search at fw for "amazon coupons". you can typically search google for the same phrase and find the same results. even if you pay for shipping, it will be cheaper. 🙂
 
It isn't so much shipping speed I'm worried about, but rather Amazon saying it will be 1 to 2 weeks just to ship out.
 
Well, I did some research, and all I could find is a $10 off $75 in the toys department. Also, it appears Amazon is out of stock for the moment. I tend to be impatient, and I think I will just pay the extra $10 to get it this week. I could get faster shipping with Amazon for the same price, but it might not ship for 2 weeks.

Now, on to earphones. What are some good earbuds? I am thinking the MX300's or MX500's from Sennheiser.
 
Thanks guys. I snagged the iRiver for $109 shipped. The place I bought it from, Computers4Sure, is located in CT and I am in NH. UPS ground basically takes 1-2 days to get it here, so the extra $10 was worth it to me.

Anyone know where to get those flat rectangular NiMh batteries?
 
Yeah - IRiver is the bomb - they've taken a good portion of the cd player market w/ their snazzy smallish players.
 
I bought one back when it was $180 dollars and let me tell you, it was worth every penny! It came with me to Europe and back and it was a savior at times. Get it!!

Why pay more for less...
iRiver 350/400 and now the TDK Mojo 860. Panasonic's new line of CD/MP3s aren't out yet... the older SL-MP35s (I have one) are actually pretty nice for the price but not as portable and fully featured as the iRivers or the new Mojo.
 
a guy that lives with me has that cd player (or maybe its the older 200 or 300 model?)

its a REALLY snazzy peace. if i were you, id go for the MX400 or MX500 earbuds (newegg sells em). althought i dont know what the mx300 sounds like..why not just spend a little more for the best buds they ahve 🙂
 
Thanks guys. I picked up the iRiver for $109 shipped, and since it comes out of CT and I'm in NH, it will be here tomorrow. 🙂 I also snagged the MX500 earbuds for $15 shipped. Thanks for all the advice!
