I'm looking for some kind of portable (battery powered) recording device that's relatively inexpensive ($200-ish), has a powered microphone jack, and can transfer audio files directly to the pc (through something like USB, not the sound card).
I tried a MD recorder, but it lacked this last feature. Other than that it worked well. I plan to use it for recording sound effects for games, so I want it to be decent quality. Anyone have some suggestions or know of some sites that might have info on the subject?
