I am looking for either a set of earmuffs with a radio built in or a device like a ipod so I can listen to the radio while running equipment that has good reception. What I am using now does not pick up a few stations and it does not have an antenna which is most likely the problem.

Has anybody used those worktunes earmuffs? http://www.ebay.com/itm/PELTOR-WORK...08738171?pt=US_Headphones&hash=item3f136b4a7b How good is the reception?

I have an iPod Nano 6g that is compact, plays mp3's, and works well for the radio. I got it as part of the iPod Nano 1g recall, and they replaced it for free. Worth looking into if you have one of those laying around.

I don't own an ipod but they have AM station? To my memory, there aren't a lot of portable mp3 devices that has built in AM, thy're usually only FM.

am devices need a large antenna, so you dont see am in small devices. i had one that would fit in my pocket, it was am/fm.. and it worked ok... but thats all it did. no mp3s.

now i just use my phone and stream radio stations. mobilestreamcenter.com or radio.com or tunein or shoutcast....

I just had to buy one of these for my daughter. Checked Radio Shack and they had a couple of models, all overpriced. Checked Wallmart and they only had two or three am/fm. Got one for $10 and she says it works fine. It is an armband radio and can also clip to belt. Basically there aren't many people making these anymore.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Seems kind of silly to buy an Ipod just for radio when I already have a mp3 player, lots of times I just like to listen to radio.

I do not care about AM but it does need to have good reception for FM.

Has anybody used those Worktunes headphones?
