Port sharing with SMC broadband router (Battle.net)

Is it possible to let two computers access battle.net simultaneously with an SMC broadband router? Currently, when one computer is logged on, and another tries, I get the error message:

Check with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and/or network admin to make sure your network is not restricting UDP or TCP/IP packets on Port 6112 of your router.

Thanks!

Most current NAT routers should support it. As long as both UDP and TCP ports for battle.net are mapped to all of the internal computers IP's.

Thanks for the help. I looked it up and the SMC 7004ABR does support NAT. However, how do I get the router to support opening the port to both computers? Right now, I've enabled port 6112 under 'Special Applications', but I still get disconnected...

If you are playing the same game on both computers, for example starcraft, then both computers need to use the same port number. This can't be done for the most part since you can't have two computers sharing the same port. However, the only workaround that I found that works is to have one computer connect to a VPN which gives that computer a new IP address. This computer can then join battlenet as well. Other than that, I haven't seen any really good answers.. Good luck!

DMZ = Demilitarized Zone. If you set this up, it will put your computer outside the router firewall, and expose you to the internet. Usually setting this up will fix your problem, as it has been done by a lot of users. Personally, I haven't really tried it because I don't have the patience to wait for other people to join my game.

To do this, just go into your router configuration page, and click on Setup -> Misc. You should see a place where you enter the IP of the DMZ. Just enter the IP of your computer and click enable.

Good luck and hope this helps.
