I have a Linksys PLK-300 power adapter for a computer in my basement. It gets its internet access from the main floor, where I have a Netgear 824 router. Everything directly connected to the router works fine, but the computer in the basement can't do a number of things.
The computer in the basement is properly getting assigned its IP from the router's DHCP.
I'm using uTorrent with uPnP port forwarding. Random port is not checked. I can see the port properly get assigned in the Netgear's admin. But when I check if the port is open, it fails, and peers are definitely not connecting. I've also tried turning off uPnP and setting the ports manually, but still have the same problem.
I've tried the same while directly connected to the Netgear, and it works fine.
The computer in the basement can't find the Epson printer, but while connected directly to the Netgear, it works fine.
Additionally, while the windows media player sharing works from my basement computer to my PS3, none of the laptops and computers on the router can do file sharing with the basement computer.
My internet is super frickin fast (~90mb/s), and even for the computer in the basement, its getting very fast up/down speeds, around 40mb/s. So I know there's no problems with the power lines.
WTF? Anything special I'm missing here?
